I got mine to work, First i added the windows version of the game from steam to my library. I then downloaded the mac version and added the .app to steam by clicking on "add non-steam game to library" following that i opened up my terminal and pasted this string of code (sudo chmod -R 755) followed by dragging on dropping the .app muck file into the terminal then clicking enter and then it should ask you for your password (for your macbook) it'll verify it and you should be able to play it. I used this guide by Breeze Posts Cringe to get the game running. If it still doesn't open after that right click/click with two fingers and click open and open again. (You might have to put the .app into applications first before this works)
Mine still docent work, when it says in terminal to type the password, before I can finish typing it, it tells me a typed it wrong, sometimes it will tell me before I even start typing the password
On linux definitely NO (I have ubuntu) it works perfectly. You only need to add it in you're library in steam to make it work. On chromebook IDK cuz I don't have one.

use your phone as a USB tether or create a hotspot.
You need steam to run the game as the servers are on steam. Also this game cannot be run offline.

u just tipe in terminal
sudo chmod -R 777
press space and then drop in the terminal window the app from the folder where you have it in. Press enter and insert the password of your computer.
