But do not go over board... if you have a super shotgun like the one i made, shells WILL pass through the boss at all ranges, making damage output pitiful.
This game is great, but I wish that the hard mode was harder and the easy mode was easier. Do you think you could add more difficulty options? I think that in the easy mode, you should get health drops all the time, not just when you're at 1 heart. Maybe also an enemy bullet speed reduction?
As for the hard difficulty, I have some good ideas. I think you should be able to turn these on or off as settings, kind of like skulls in Halo. My favorite part about Gun Knight is doing challenge runs, but there aren't many options besides not picking up gun parts and quitting after getting hit.
Player speed reduction / enemy speed increased
Some kind of ammo drain or extra bullet usage
No cursor
Invisible enemies
Enemies have double health
Some kind of boss rush?
Enemies can move/shoot through walls
Maybe a stamina mechanic
Timers for stages
No pickups

No shop
You could add any others you want if you ever end up doing this, and maybe add an ultrahard difficulty? I'm not sure how many masochists are out there, but I would seriously appreciate even a few of these difficulty modifiers in game.
You can swap the Bouncy and Sticky properties on the trigger and grip for the same effect. Mini gat barrel instead of quad will give you an endless stream of bees, but fewer projectiles/shot.
what is everyone's highest round? I'll start mines 290. Also put your equips as well. Mine was Quad Barrel, Chaos Rounds, Sticky Trigger, Bouncey grip, Missle Stock, and Bullet Canister.
This game would be a lot more satisfying if there was a optional end at floor 100, maybe it could unlock some small stuff but rn its just annoying to go any further than that
Bullet Canister is OP man. Since reloading is turned off, even when it says the bullet canister is empty, I still shoot when using something like the burst triggers. So, if I were to take 5 burst and combine it with quad shot, it quickly becomes insanely overpowered. Now, take this and combine it with faster fire rate, and it becomes better. But drunken mag and grip make this better because it adds to the shot count. And finally, add the bullets that follow your curser as well as accuracy upgrades, if you switch them out for the drunken mag and grip, you can just hold your mouse in the middle of the screen and keep shooting, letting the bullets fill one area, and when it's enough, use them all to insta kill a boss. It may be less practical, but is more cool.
Another Tip: If you didn't know already you can change the difficulty if you want more of a challenge or you want to tone it down. On the start screen press this button and then you can change the difficulty. Hopefully this helped you out :D
This game is ridiculously fun. I played it a bunch on my own, but then decided to look up the "best gun" to go for. Everyone agrees on the trigger, barrel, and clip, but there weren't any guides beyond that. I made this, which helped me get to level 135 easily.
For anyone looking for a winning combination, I personally recommend 5x Burst Trigger,Quad Barrel,Arrows, and Bullet Canister. People don't usually bring up arrows, but I think that they're the best bullets to use with this combo because you can pick them up. You can use whatever stock and grip you prefer, but my advice is to use at least one item from the Bee setsince they can hit things through walls, and then something to buff your speed.

the stars grant you invincability. i think that its something from mario kart

Shotgun shells + any bounce item + anything that duplicates bullets

Best setup, based on over 700 levels of play (before the game crashed from an out of memory error):
Quad barrel
Shotgun ammo
Canister mag
Sticky trigger
Bouncy grip
Backwards-shooting stock
