Go and play NES Castlevania. You could make a great game involving that kind of a movement. And it's even more limited in Castlevania, because there is no momentum.
The fact that I can't change direction/momentum/whatever mid air leads to the game seeming a bit unfair. If the levels were better built around this, then it wouldn't matter, but because they're generated and due to platforms sometimes being too small it's not the best.
Since the character is moving on a wheel, it is only possible to move on ground. When you are in the air, you are not on ground, so the wheel cannot change your direction/momentum/whatever in midair. Therefore, changing speed or direction in midair is impossible.
This game is the embodiment of soul searching. I saw a comment on the video of the making of this saying that the RoboBoi is bill but he lost his memory and all he remembers is bill. This is a sad game if you think about it. I love it. you are a great game designer. Keep up the good work buddy.

But side note I did find a glitch you can just press up at the beginning of every level and it goes forward lol
But it doesn't... It's like a tree-maze. It literally moves you to the previous level so you could try another path - not forward
