Hii Hii HIII!
This is Twibird, the solo dev for this vn!
We hit 100 downloads for How to Raise the Dead in the past week. You are too kind, and too fast ^^ (I finally got around to squeezing out this thank you illustration.) Big thank you to everyone who checked it out so far!
On to business, I'll present my rough plans for what is going on with the game.
I've always wanted to make a visual novel, and this thing has been in the making for a couple of years now. It was originally going to have a Halloween release, but I decided to rush it out for Otome Jam.
This is to say that, perhaps against my better judgment, this is going to be a long ass game. It probably won't be complete for a couple of years, especially if I end up producing all the visual assets myself. I would get someone else to do the backgrounds or something (especially the backgrounds that are just edited stock photos. I'm going to use those going forward, but I hope to replace them all someday.) But alas, I am very broke. So right now that's up in the air.
As for what's to come, this vn is going to be divided into three "books". I estimate this first one will have over 60,000 words by the time the script is finished. To prevent myself from disappearing for years on end without producing any content, I will be releasing these books in installments until the game is complete. The first book will have two installments, by my estimation.
As such, I am happy to announce that the base game will be completely FREE to play :D!
I have enough words scripted to start crafting the next installment, but I'm going to hold off producing the visual assets I need for a while as I address projects I've been neglecting in the meantime. And who knows? Maybe I'll produce a much shorter project to tide us over for the release of the game *wink wink*.
I probably won't post much in the way of updates here on itch. It'll be mostly for releases. If you'd like to check up on what I'm doing, (Mostly art, since I'm primarily a visual artist), catch me on my socials @twibirdart!
Once again, thank you all so much for checking out the game! I hope to touch base with ya'll real soon!
