Update v0.1.1a

"The Economy Update"

Welcome to DIGSITE: ALPHA version 0.1.1a The Economy Update. This is the second build of the game, and it's quite a big one, so I will try my best to explain all the additions, fixes, and changes that I have made to the game:

ADDED:

  • A stock market that allows you to generate passive income

===STOCK MARKET EXPLANATION===

You can buy the stocks of companies in the new "Market" menu. In this menu, you can sell collected resources to companies that will trade the resource for money. The resources are located under RECOVERED ITEMS. You will earn more money if you trade with the company with the highest bid. However, trading with a company will increase its dividends, regardless of who you are trading with. It is best to trade with a company you have already bought stocks in. Buying stocks will add to your owned shares in your PORTFOLIO. The value of the stocks will either rise or fall per turn, by a random amount. You earn passive income per turn through dividends, which, if you are a massive nerd,  will be DividendsPerShare = 1 + (Company Revenue  / 300). But that's mostly irrelevant, just trade with a company you like and watch the money flow in. If you are feeling lucky, you can sell your stocks, which will directly transfer the stock's value divided by the number of stocks owned into your pocket. The value of a stock is determined by the number of shares owned and the stock price (base is 100).

*Note, the items you can buy from the market are not yet implemented and have no use; do not buy the "Pickaxe Upgrade" or "Portable Medkit" unless you want your money to disappear into the void.

CHANGES:

  • Mining resources will no longer directly give you money; you have to trade the resources away first
  • Mining anomalies will no longer directly give you money; you must trade the anomaly away
  • Clearing hazards will give you money upon clearing them, but only 15% of the time
  • Buttons will now be highlighted when hovering above them
  • Some numbers changed here and there

FIXES:

  • The log will now autoscroll to the bottom of the list instead of 3-4 lines above
  • Text will no longer escape the bounds of the log panel box
  • Ceaseless screaming is now less intense
