Dev Update #309

My boring life.

I have been mostly unable to work this week, and I think you have a right to know why. So let's talk about it.

Most of you probably already know that I have some health issues. Including some chronic pains, induced by a badly healed injury I sustained almost 30 years ago. Arthrosis and neural budding ( I think that's the word ? I'm not sure.) are making my life regularly difficult, but so far I managed to deal with it, with some painkillers and a cane.

This time, however, it's different. I haven't been able to walk for more than a month now. I've exchanged my cane for a couple of crutches and moved myself around my house with arm strength. Not being able to walk didn't impair my ability to work until last weekend when I injured my right elbow. Since then, I have been unable to stretch or bend my arm, and most positions are uncomfortable, if not very painful. That made me unable to even hold and drag my mouse. I am typing this dev update with my left hand only. I tried to keep working, at first, but it has been rapidly obvious that I couldn't work with my left hand only, as posing requires some precision.

That is the situation I'm in.

There is hope, however, I saw an MD and got some new meds. I started the treatment today, and I believe I'm already seeing some improvements. I have good hope to be able to work again on Monday, I probably won't be 100% efficient, but at least, I will be able to make some progress.

It is highly ironic that, now, I'm spending more time at my desk, because I am unable to move, and yet I am unable to work because I can't move my right arm either.

So, as I mentioned, I made very little progress on the posing. I've barely posed a handful of shots before deciding that maybe I should just rest or do something else, some other task I could do more efficiently. And that was working on Scene 34.

I didn't do much, however. I corrected my story map a bit, took some more notes, established a plan for the scene... and started writing it. Of course I didn't go very far, as writing with my left hand only is impractical and slow as fuck. But I wrote down the first few hundred words of the script. It was a very frustrating experience, but at least I felt like I was doing something.

So... Yeah, I'm not very proud of the work I accomplished this week. I hope I'll be able to work again starting next Monday.

The quick sum up :

• Day 6 Part 7 will contain 3 new scenes: scenes 33, 34, and 35.
• Day 6 Part 7 will contain 1 reworked scene.
• 6365 words of new content.
• 191 shots are planned, 14 are posed.
• I'm currently posing scene 33.
