Under Your Spell
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

So I have good news, just news and maybe bad news this week.

First the good news the work on the dressing room continues. It did turn out to be much more of a challenge than I initially expected it to be. Everything went well in my initial builds, until I started mixing and matching the clothes, that's where the issues started popping up. And adding the fact that I wanted to make the poses and outfits unlockable as the you progress through the game added even more challenges. For example, you need to be able to swap Aisling's skirt and jeans if you saw her in both, but you should not be able to remove either of those if you haven't seen her in her underwear yet. This could be solved by adding the "remove skirt/jeans" button, but I found it really awkward, having two buttons for putting on or removing each separate piece of clothing. So if I want to be able to put on and remove Aisling's jeans with the same button, I will have to add much more conditions to the code. And lots of variables to keep track if the item is currently on or off, so that the game will know whether the button should put the item of clothing on or remove it.

But at least it seems that I am more or less there this time. Aisling's dressing room is almost 100% done sans the proper interface, I just need to put the trigger to unlock the clothing sets into the game and test that those are working properly. Then I will be able to "clone" the room for the rest of the girls.



Thankfully it is not that difficult, but is really tedious and is much more work than what I was anticipating. Which leads us to "just kind of news", since I have to spend much more work on the dressing room than I was planning, I have not been dedication as much time to writing new events. I am still working on them, but at a much slower pace than before. That might be a blessing in itself though, since Shady Two needs more time with for the artworks, and it might be a nice change of pace for me too, to slow down on the writing for a bit.

And now to the relatively bad news. Next month, Shady Two and I are planning on having a pretty major moving operation, which will likely hinder our work A LOT, so the updates might be more irregular in the upcoming weeks, up to a couple of months. Hopefully, this will not disappoint you all too much. We are just two people working on the game in our spare time, but we will try to do our best to give you the best that we can.

I will try to at least keep you all updated in these devblogs, since it will be a shame to break the pattern after a consistent year of posting.
