Hey everyone!
It's been a bit of a tumultuous 24 hours as I'm sure any of you who follow gaming spaces online may have noticed. For those of you who don't, basically payment providers strongarmed Itch and Steam to deal with certain content on these platforms. I think even some Japanese platforms were hit a while ago as well.
As of right now all adult games are de-indexed on itch. That doesn't mean that they are gone, but that if you search itch you won't be able to find them. Basically a sort of shadowban.
As of right now, games like Conway are only accessible through a direct link, or through web searches.
Though there are some games that appear to have been removed entirely. Both from the site and from the libraries of those who may have purchased them.
In any case, what this means for Conway I cannot really say with any certainty yet, as we developers haven't gotten any more information than what is publicly available. So it's a bit of a wait-and-see situation. It sounds like the de-indexing is going to be temporary as Itch scrambles to comply, but one way or another there just has not been any firm communication.
It does put us in a bit of a tough situation though. On one hand I don't want to delay Update 19, because releases have always happened on the 1st, so why stop now? But on the other, the bump in visibility that a new Update brings is massive and quite important for the health and sustainability of the game.
Given how uncertain the situation is we'll have to wait and see how it develops over the next few days and decide once we are closer to the scheduled release.
