Hey! It's been a busy 2 weeks and The game update is progressing well! Between tweaking old features and fixing bugs to adding new mechanincs, I am really happy with the progress so far on V0.2, So Let's go through it

Progress so far

Cutscene Overhall

Before developing the game, I have been debating with my self how I should go about telling the story, Telling the story via third person cutscenes was the decision. However, I ran into deadline issues and decided that First person Cutscenes [POV Cutscenes] made for a simple work around, since the protagonist, Russel, hasn't been fully modeled yet. So that's the reason you see a lot of them in V0.1 I wanted to get the playable version out as soon as possible and then fix and add features later.

So, I have decided to give the story Cutscenes an overhall. New cutscenes that I am working on have been told not from the point of view of the protagonist, Russel, but rather normal cutscenes.

Some or all of the cutscenes you have seen in V0.1 will need to be worked on to make things consistent. So I am looking forward to that as well

Dialogue Skip system overhall

The dialogue in V0.1 played automatically as soon as cutscenes started, This gave me the ability to make dynamic cutscenes that doesn't just show the character standing and staring at the player while the dialogue plays. However, much of the feedback I got pointed to the fact that cutscenes play too fast and the they can't read the dialogue

So in V0.2, I have implemented a new system in which whenever a dialogue is played, The Cutscene slows down and the player can click to progress the dialogue. It turned out pretty well if I say so myself and honestly I can't wait for people to try it and give me feedback on it

Sex Mechanics Overhall

There are 2 major changes to the sex system implemented in the game. First is that you now can switch camera and rotate freely around the scene, instead of just the POV of Russel implemented in V0.1

Second is the controls, Before I started developing the game, I didn't want to rob the players of the interactivity and just make animations play automatically like many games I see, And I will stay true to this, The new mechanincs will add interactivity while giving the player the freedom to choose the stage as they please. This is in contrast to V0.1 where it was more of a linear path where you progress from one stage to the other. So bottom line, Sex mechanics have improved a lot and will continue to do so.

I had to go back and reanimate most of the already existing animations to accomodate the new system though, but it's definitely worth it

Story

Unfortunately, A lot of things needed to be retweaked and fixed in the already existing game and I have made little progress forwards in terms of the next chapter in the story. I will start working on the new levels and complete the cutscenes in the next few days, after finishing up the Sex mechanincs and bring the old scenes up to date.

Next Steps

Here's what needs to be done before V0.2 can be released:

  • Finishing Cutscenes for the next chapter in the story, We'll see if I have enough time to overhall the already existing cutscenes, but new material is the priority
  • Setting up the combat levels, as well as new sex scenes [probably will include 2 or 3 new sex scenes]
  • Adding at least a new weapon, This has already been planned and still needs the animations and the coding
  • Polishing the Ai of enemies and their animations
  • Refining the order of missions, A lot of cutscenes play in the beginning of the game, I have been told it's not ideal and I agree. Expect an overhalled mission progression from the beginning of the game

Thanks for trying the game, I am really enjoying making this game and excited for people totry the new mechanincs and improved features.

I am hoping for the V0.2 update to be finished next month, Hopefully sooner than later, but I can't promise when exactly. I will keep updating you with the progress in these Dev Logs as the game comes along
