Development of War of Dots: Last Stand continues at full speed — and version 0.0.9 marks another significant leap forward. This update delivers fresh tactical options, enhanced visuals, smarter unit behavior, and major system upgrades under the hood. Let’s dive into what’s new.
Say hello to the Dragon Cavalry — fast-moving mounted marksmen that combine the agility of cavalry with the precision of ranged firepower. These hybrid units open up bold new tactical options for ambushes, flanking maneuvers, and long-range harassment.
Projectile Visuals Overhaul: All ranged attacks have received visual polish for better clarity and responsiveness. Shots now feel sharper, more dynamic, and easier to track in the chaos of battle.
New Particle Effects: Added environment and battle particles for improved immersion and atmosphere during combat.
Death Fade Animation: Units now vanish with a smooth disappearance animation upon death, enhancing visual flow and reducing sudden clutter.
Selection Box Added: You can now select multiple units with a drag box. It's more intuitive, efficient, and makes army control much smoother.
AI Smarter Than Ever: We've improved pathfinding, targeting decisions, and group behavior across all unit types. Units react faster and behave more predictably in both offense and defense.
Healing System Revamp: A brand-new healing system has been implemented. Units will begin recovering health when out of combat, but the process resets if they re-engage — creating deeper risk-reward dynamics.
Multiple under-the-hood bug fixes and stability improvements.
Streamlined several core scripts to reduce CPU load during large-scale encounters.
Improved sprite management to ensure smoother visual transitions.
Introducing a new medal system! Units can now earn battlefield distinctions based on their performance. While currently cosmetic, this system lays the groundwork for future progression features and stat tracking.
