I finally manage to improve the object pickup system. For a while I had a hard time figuring out how to properly rotate the boxes held by the player because the math was surprisingly more complicated than I thought, but on a whim I somehow manage to pull it off. It should feel pretty close to the original game now in that respect. Along with that I've also started work on the gravity gun, currently you cannot pick up items with it but that will be coming very soon, along with animations and sfx.
Once that's finished I'll be moving on to more weapons, health, and possibly ai. I want to focus on authentic game-play before I start making levels. I'm already quite surprised by how much the game feels like half-life 2 already, but I find that even small details missing or not working the same really do make it feel off, so that's a huge focus going forward.
