Hi everyone, and thank you for checking out **Rapax**.
This is a solo-developed pixel art action RPG with a focus on tactical exploration, combat, and transformation.
I've handled nearly everything myself — pixel art, effects, terrain, textures, story, gameplay systems, and UI — with the exception of the music, which I commissioned due to my own lack of musical talent.
I started this project because I wanted to fully "output" the worlds and ideas in my head, and see how far I could push myself creatively and technically.
This is a passion-driven game born from a desire to burn out completely on a single work.
Rapax is a side-scrolling exploration action RPG. While leveling up helps, it’s not enough to win.
To progress, you’ll need to transform into different forms with unique abilities and tactics, adapting to bosses and situations.
Currently, the game includes around **70 playable forms**, with plans to expand that to **several hundred**.
This demo lets you play through the **prologue tutorial and first boss battle**.
The game’s difficulty is slightly on the higher side.
Depending on how you evolve or transform, the approach to bosses can vary greatly.
The first boss is tough — especially under certain conditions — and while some may beat it in under 30 minutes, others may take closer to an hour.
Planned updates include:
- More playable characters and enemy types
- A system for forming a party
- New areas and story content
- The full final boss
This demo represents just the beginning.
I’ll post updates when there’s something worth sharing — no strict schedule, though.
If you're interested, check out the **Early Access version on Steam**, which includes land stages and additional boss-level enemies.

### Feedback welcome
If you have thoughts or suggestions — such as parts that felt confusing or features you'd like to see — feel free to reach out.
I'm most active on **X (Twitter)**, so that's the best place to reach me.
### Thanks
Thank you for playing the demo.
If the atmosphere and world came across even a little, I’m happy.
I’ll continue to develop this with the mindset that **players are not beta testers**, and I want to make something worth your time.
