The 40th week of development is coming to a close, and our game continues to grow with new details and mechanics.
This week we've been just as busy as the last, focusing heavily on the save system. After testing with our audience, it became clear that the current system caused a slew of bugs and issues: duplicated items, ingredients, and currency; characters getting stuck; and sometimes dialogue with Rena breaking entirely. Saves were loading instantly and without confirmation, making it unclear whether the game had already loaded. Players also noted the lack of save name, time, and date.
We've collected your feedback and started fixing the issues. We know how important a good save system is and will be improving it in future updates.
Here's what else we worked on:
• We're preparing a new outfit for Steffa from the baroness storyline - it will drastically change her appearance;
• We're adding a new look for "The Wanderer", needed for one of the story branches;
• Work continues on Rena's potion-drinking animation. For practical reasons, the bottle will always look the same - not because Rena has a universal drinking vessel, but because we'd rather not waste huge amounts of time making 10–12 unique bottle models;
• We're continuing to develop the transformation mechanics for Rena;
• We're preparing a large batch of new in-game text for voiceover;
• We finally finished the first trailer - and already shared it with you!
• We're continuing work on a new story character - "The Cursed Adventurer";
• We're improving the visuals of the tavern 'Last Call', gradually filling the location with rich detail.
