#level design #game design
So this is our first collaboration and game ever created. In good Indie Dev fashion we overscored, wanted to overachieve, and cram just about everything we can into our first game.
Which if you watched or listened to any podcasts or YouTube videos you already know, that's the lesson you learn on your first game. I created Game Design Documents for us to follow and grand Level Design ideas for myself to follow to create this epic world in my head. Yeah, that left is going 3 extra months more than what any of us wanted, and at the end of the day it didn't work out like that.
We reworked the game a few times and turned it into a hack n' slash adventure game where enemies spawn in zones, and you have to kill all the enemies to complete the game.
Design wise I used asset packs for the environment and level design due to time constraints. I used Landscape Tools in Unreal Engine including organic mesh blending with the landscape to tie it all together.
