v0.3.1 build is live!
NapitakA browser game made in HTML5
Changelog
New:
- Combat Tutorial and first time player experience that guides you into the game more gently and clearly.
- Passing turn with max focus remaining consumes all of your focus to draw an extra card at the end of the turn.
- Queue system that drives status labels (so that they don't keep all popping up on top of each other)
- Card stacking/collision system so that cards rendered atop each other behave as expected
- Announcement system for game messages (used in tutorial system)
- Intro cutscene leading into the new combat tutorial
- Pretty scene transitions!
Changed/Removed:
- Removed discards from combat, now your cards always cycle back through your hand and one deck. The visual for discards is still temporarily there but won't be for long.
- Removed penalty for reshuffling deck.
- Added enemy death animation so you can feel good for killing them!
- Added notifications for failure to flee and failure to draw a card from your deck due to max hand size being reached or no cards being available
- Cards now gray out when they have no charges left
- Changed cards to show charge counter and focus cost on the actual card rather than JUST the tooltip
Future Roadmap:
- Flavor dialogue text for enemies when they are attacked or are attacking (think like a JRPG game)
- Earth and Air base ingredients reintroduced with all of the ingredient and potion trees that come along with that (way more combinations than before when they were merely a debugging tool)
- First boss enemy encounter
- New enemies
- A few non-combat roleplay-esque encounters
- Accuracy system for enemy attacks (% chance to hit that can be modified by potions)
- In-run currency & shop encounter
- One time use consumable powders that apply a special powerful effect to a potion for it's next use in combat
- Music and SFX
- More artwork
