Hello Everyone!
While I post regular dev updates on Patreon, I thought it was long overdue that I post one here. I especially wanted to post an update because Chapter four has been a rocky road, and I wanted to be clear about where things stand.
To begin, due to very personal issues beyond my control, I will need to take a 1-2 month break. Chapter four is a monster, but it is in relatively good shape, and probably only needs 2 months or less of work to complete. Sadly, now is simply not the time. That said, there are several things that I wanted to highlight that are coming in the next chapter.
To start, Chapter four begins with a time skip. For the most part, this means that all of the personality and relationship choices you've made up until this point will become baked in. Choices in Chapters four and five will revolve more around optional branching and dialogue rather than personality and relationship building, although there are still a lot of options to be settled with the various girls. Pregnancy! Yes, after the time skip, you may find that some of the girls are pregnant. Pregnancy is optional, however, either by choice or by simply not having relations with the girl. There are complications that stem from this that you will have to make choices about, however...so beware...Anyway, pregnancy is one of the largest dev bottlenecks I'm dealing with at the moment. It has necessitated the creation of a ton of extra images, animations, branches, etc. It's also required the creation of...
Sprites! Lots and lots of new sprites. Lots of new outfits in both pregnant/non-pregnant varieties. The coven also goes on a little trip during the chapter so this also contributed to the need for some new outfits as well. There's also a few new characters coming...Anyway, there's been a big uptick in demand for renders as a result of all of this. Luckily, I have acquired...
New hardware! And software! Yes, I went ahead and took the 5090 plunge. This required moving all my work to the new DAZ 2025. Fortunately, everything has been smooth sailing in this department. I still have to do certain things in old DAZ, but switching between the two for certain scenes is pretty easy, especially since everything loads so much faster in the new system.
So, to conclude, I would say that Chapter four is about 2/3 complete at the moment. Another solid couple of months of work should do it. To put some raw numbers on it, here is a summary of the content completed so far:
I want to thank everyone that has supported the project so far. This chapter has taken a lot longer than I wanted it to, but life happens. We will be back soon, and hopefully with a new chapter later in the year.
