I posted this on the community discord, but wanted to update anybody finding the game here:

Hey guys, this update has been a long time coming (because I wanted to be very sure) but with the way my life is right now I won't be able to work on Vapor Trails at its current scope any more. I did the bulk of the work when I was living with my parents during the pandemic in 2020-2023, and now that I have a place of my own, a girlfriend, and a social life, I don't spend as much time devving.

I think the amount of effort I put in before was partly a way to cope with being stuck in my childhood bedroom and needing a way to feel like it was worthwhile somehow. I'm glad something good came of it, even though it was a half-finished game, but I'm also glad I'm not in that situation any more. I really owe a lot to everyone here for finding bugs and speedrunning and just talking about the game, and I feel like I'm letting you all down in some way, but I truly don't think going back to the life of a hermit is worth it. I hope you all understand.

I'm still gonna be making small things here and there, but nothing on the scale of VT.
