So I wanted to pack this somewhere into the game itself but it's great that I can do this via itch.io
This is a postmortem because this variant of Steal It will not be developed further. Because it's inner workings are a horrible mess. :D
There are random canvas and scripts for everything. Also the graphics could use a lot of improvement.
This concept was inspired by the game The Sting!(Der Clou 2 in German) a game made by Neo Software Produktions GmbH, later known as Rockstar Vienna until its shutdown.
I plan to rework this and restart development on a more robust prototype. One that is easier to expand and not so clunky to play.
There were a lot of things I had to scrap which are planned to make it into the next version. Animation and textures for a start. Like guards reacting to sound. Better pathfinding. Better clipping. More interactions. Character progression and a general expansion of scope.
This gamejam was a lot of fun and I learned a lot of things. Big thanks to WittyAdrian for organizing this!
