Since our last update, we’ve been fixing some bugs during the planet placement phase of the construction stage — and we’re happy to say they’re now resolved! But that’s not all we’ve been up to :)
We’re currently working on a more intuitive and visually appealing UI for the building phase. On top of that, we implemented a randomizer system: every round, players will get a different selection of structures and objects to place. This means no two matches will ever feel the same!
Tracking planet health in the heat of battle wasn’t easy, so we added a new damage animation. Now, when a planet takes a hit, it shows progressive cracks, making it easier for players to gauge its remaining HP.
We also introduced a brand new weapon animation for players. It’s still a work-in-progress, but we’re experimenting with a parry mechanic that would let players deflect bullets or even bounce them back at their opponents!
We’re still refining these new features and exploring how they affect gameplay. Some decisions are still in the works — especially around how parry mechanics could impact balance — but we’re excited about what’s coming next.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for the next devlog! :D
