Devlog #5: The Zombies Have No End

Zombielia
A downloadable game for Windows

Hiiiii!!! Helloo!!!!! Hi hello hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It's nice to see you all again on this new iteration of Zombielia. This time with the incoming risk of rains in Santiago and academical failure. But what's the point of writing something if the person who is writing it (me, unpaid) isn't at least a little bit afraid and stressed? (help me i am very tired)

Gameplay

  • Waves: you may notice a subtle red square outside of the main room. That's because zombies now can spawn in any point of it instead of set points perpendicular to the "windows". Waves also now scale in difficulty. Watch out!
  • Respawn: dead players can now revive after a wave ends if you buy the correct item. Now you don't have to wait for your friend to die to play again.
  • Slight adjustment to zombies' hitbox.

Visuals

  • CRT Filter: yes, this is slightly annoying. But who cares? It looks cool!
  • Cute and colorful background for the main menu.
  • Now weapons rotate correctly with your mouse.
  • Sprites for the items in the shop.
  • Addition of a new font!

And various bugfixes that you don't really care about! Well, there is one that is important, which is that the store now does not appear if you are dead. Dead people can't spend money after all.

For the future of this game (there's only one other devlog left!), along many minor quality of life fixes, our efforts will be centered on:

- Addition of tilesets so the environment looks nice instead of godot-blue

- Overall balance of the game
