#2025 #Quartet #long post
Greetings!
I am Quill, aka High Garden Games, here with a demo for a game I've been working on for a little while now: Quartet!
Quartet is a single-player card game, where the player competes against 3 NPCs in order to complete the most "Quartets", or sets of four cards. To gain cards, the players must make the closest guesses to the cards played by whomever is the "dealer" for the round, collecting everyone else's guess. Keep in mind what cards you have, and what cards you think everyone else has.
The demo also comes with some cosmetic options, with the ability to change the card back designs and the player character.
I hope to make a full version of the game, with additional game modes, achievements, and new places over the course of the next year (or two), and release my first ever polished, paid game. The demo, on the other hand, will remain free, and has the full gameplay loop of its original game mode, so although it won't have new cosmetics you can still play the game!
If you're interested in Quartet and the full version, feel free to follow me or check back for updates. Because I'm a college student, and I've never done something like this before, there is no funding for this. I'd rather not cause any trouble in the event I somehow don't return to Quartet or it takes me a decade to get this done (lol).
As for what to expect in the full version (and what you'll see in the progress updates), I made a handy little list of milestones I'm shooting for:
I don't know how long it will take me, but I'm hoping to have a build to publish by at latest summer 2027. And if there are any major changes to this, I plan on talking about them here.
Looking forward to what people think about the demo. It's certainly not the next big thing, but it's a fun way to waste time and so long as someone's tried it out, I'm happy!
Toodles for now,
- Quill
