Not a lot have happened last week, since both I and Shady Two were mostly recuperating from the final sprint that we made for the release of 0.3.0. Surprisingly, there were not that many bugs this time (at least the ones that I know of). I hope that means that I am getting better at this. Or maybe that means that the bug-fairies and typo-goblins are becoming trickier >:) So, do not hesitate to tell us when you see one!
But, last week I finally got myself to sit down and start working on the second Trial properly. Contrary to my belief, this one turned out more difficult to tackle, than the first one. This being the second trial, invites the idea of it being more difficult than the first one. But since the first Trial was designed to give the players a proper challenge, I cannot overtune this one too much. Also, because there are two more trials to come after this one. And on top of that, despite this being the Trial of Might, I don't really want the players who focus on the non-combat stats to feel completely left out. So the balancing was a big issue no matter what. I did manage to come up with a general concept and the overall balance for now. But it will probably be subject to change as I really get into the programming part.
We also started making rough drafts for what will soon become the in-game journal. It is possibly our most requested feature at the moment, and it will also, hopefully will help the players to orient themselves more easily between the girls' storylines. Maybe I will even be able to add some subtle hints here and there, to maybe help people find the next event. Nothing too concrete though, that's what Divination is for (on top of other things).
Shady Two also continued her work on the beautification of the early parts of the game, starting with the players' rooms. As well as preparing some artworks for the currently available girl-events.
Well, this was a short one, but that's all I have for now. I'll see you all next week.
Shady Character One, out!
