We finally put out the In Full Bloom demo a few weeks back.
For what I can say regarding perception - It's going good. Not amazing, but I’ve been happily surprised by how steady the stream of people checking out and downloading the project has been. Seeing that people like the game despite virtually no prior marketing is super rewarding.
Speaking of no prior marketing: we were lucky enough to get funding and show In Full Bloom at two conventions this month:
PAX east and Nordic Game
PAX started approximately a week after the itch demo release.
It was amazing to see how our project resonated with a different, American audience. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Our game is definitely a bit of a weird one and not exactly what I’d associate with the US scene. It was crazy how full our booth was the whole time and my voice paid the price from all the lovely conversations.
Since this convention in Malmö, Sweden, is way smaller and B2B oriented, the experience here was a very different one. Much calmer. We were able to represent the studio with our games and I think we are headed in the right direction.
A few streams have popped up here and there since PAX. Huge thank you to everyone playing! We’re glued to our screens whenever we find one.
The videos seem to perform pretty well for the creators, which makes us so happy for them and it's amazing to see people narrate their relationships with our creature.
One of our favourites so far:
Over the next few days, we want to finally get the Steam page up and running so we can start collecting wishlists. (Every gamedevs favourite currency... sigh)
The team will sit down to evaluate all our new experiences from the conventions and make a plan for the near future. We will have an exciting new demo release before the end of August (before Gamescom).
Thank you for checking in,
Lisa
