It’s been wayyy too long! The next update for Zoomies is FINALLY here, and it’s a big one. So let’s jump straight into it.

🐾 Game Patch Notes Summary

✂️ Removed

• Tooltip system removed — made localisation too difficult.

🌍 Localisation

• Added language selection to the startup and settings screens.
• First pass of Japanese localisation!
  • ⚠️ Not 100% accurate yet. UI warning to be added.
• ⚠️ Some text may appear out of place due to localisation changes.

🎨 Visual & UI Changes

• Main Menu now shows a demo race instead of a static scene.
  • May add option to use the old menu later.
• Main Menu UI improved.
• Settings Menu redesigned:
  • Game Settings
  • Graphic Settings
  • Audio Settings
  • Accessibility Settings (Coming soon)
  • Extra Settings (Coming soon)
• Added player position indicator to in-race UI.
• Fixed blocky shadows on Bobtail cat.
• Game now uses native resolution on first launch.
• New final lap animation + sound.

🏎️ Gameplay Improvements

• Handling rework: Cats are now easier to control! 🙌
• Rubberbanding improved and now toggleable via Game Settings.
• AI cats:
  • No more start delay on Medium/Hard difficulties.
  • Now spread out briefly after race start.
• Reworked cat physics and performance (again) for improved stability.

🛠️ Other Changes

• More art and physics props added to Suburbs tracks.
• Skid particles improved, and new dirt FX added.
• New camera views: Near and Far options available.
• Cat running animations updated.
• Updated difficulty bonus label post-race:
  • Hidden if playing on Easy (no bonus).

• 🐈 Siamese
• 🐈 Abyssian
• 🐈 Bengal

💸 Economy

• Altered cat prices.

🐞 Known Issues

• Resetting on Pirate Island hill may drop player under track.
• Game Settings page won’t open first time, but works on second try.

Since this update is HUGE, it will most likely introduce new bugs. If you encounter any, please let me know! I’ll leave the previous version of Zoomies available just in-case!
