Hey friends,
So… I finally hit publish on my little game experiment: Sudosaw. It’s live. You can play it now. That’s both super exciting and mildly terrifying.
What is Sudosaw?
It's Sudoku, but with jigsaw mechanics. You don’t fill in numbers—you drag and drop chunks of the puzzle into place. The idea hit me when I was messing around with drag-and-drop code and thought, “What if Sudoku was more… touchy?” And somehow it turned into this weirdly satisfying logic game.
It’s kind of relaxing, kind of challenging, and honestly just something I wanted to see exist.
Why I made it:
I love Sudoku. I love jigsaw puzzles. I wanted something that felt good to interact with and didn’t stress me out. Also, I wanted to build a complete game all by myself. I am happy that I was able to complete this project.
What I learned :
I had so much fun building this. That said, the hardest part of making any game—big or small—is actually finishing it. As a developer, starting things is easy. You get hyped, code like a maniac for a few days... and then life hits. Getting this thing across the finish line felt huge. Even if it’s small, I’m proud of it.
The drag-and-drop feels really nice (I think :D)
I didn’t rage-quit halfway through development 🙃
Stuff that was a pain:
Getting pieces to snap in place cleanly
Finding that sweet spot between "challenging" and "fun"
Naming it... "Sudosaw" just stuck one night and now here we are
Anyway, it’s out there now. It’s free to try. I’d love for you to give it a shot, and if you do, let me know what you think—good, bad, or “what even is this?”
Thanks for checking it out. And if you’ve ever thought about making a game: do it. Even if it’s weird. Especially if it’s weird.
