Big patch out! This one introduces more narrative mechanics to the game. There is a new Character Options pdf to help make character creation easier to read through.
New features:
Changed or renamed features:
Character creation has been moved past the List of Abilities, and placed right before the DM chapter. A new character options pdf has been created to make character creation easier to flip through.
Rescue Tokens have been renamed to Rescue Badges, and Dungeon Tokens have been renamed to Dungeon Marks.
“Survive” common activity has been changed: it is now Physique + Cognition.
“Hidden in Shadows” complication has been reworked to use Dungeon Marks and renamed to “Surprise Encounter.”
Niche passives are renamed to niche adaptations.
If a Niche skillset is hindered, it reduces the resulting effectiveness tier by 1.
“Nurse” niche’s treatments are clarified to only affect narrative ailments.
Bonds have an upper limit of 5 active at a time.
“Caltrops” terrain changed to not cause damage, but to lose HP instead.
Aura, Signature, and Valor abilities mechanics are reworded.
“Accurate” buff renamed to “Accuracy,” “Inaccurate” debuff renamed to “Inaccuracy.”
“Power Strike”, “Shadowblade” melee attacks are lower complexity.
“Scorch” ranged attack’s Fulg mastery has been completely changed.
“Weather Ball” ranged attack has been changed to “Weather Dart” to be compatible with the Dart Band.
“Shield” reaction grants more negation in the Central position.
scenes in dungeons are clarified.
bonus objective creation has been clarified.
rooms now have a size, which determines how many zones they contain.
“Teleporb” treasure is now an item instead.
“Orb of Vision” has been replaced with the “Force Pendant” treasure and “Vision Lens” item.
minor text fixes throughout the document for consistency.
