Tankblade
A browser game made in HTML5

Holy heck,  w h a t   a   r i d e

It's only a short little game, but it's definitely the only one I've ever actually finished. I mean, I'm not a game dev by trade so it's taken a lifetime to develop the cornucopia of skills necessary - and especially as I didn't fancy using pico / tic -80 / any game engine at all, it was a whole thing.

Best way to learn programming though, making games. Great excuse to brush up on promises, composition and other functional programming techniques. Not to mention drawing sprites and composing chiptune music (the best bit!).

Like I mentioned in the game description, it uses Pixi.js as the basic renderer but other than that it's all my own junk, so I'm super proud, and it took around a week of .. incredibly sporadic work, as you can see in the github repo if you're interested!

As for the rest of the dev log, you can just check out the repo and study it to your heart's content. Open source for the win!
