For those following the Backerkit, it has been delayed to Wednesday. It’s my first time using the new service, so I’m learning on the fly, and may have not noticed to send the project into review until it was too late…
WEDNESDAY AT 9AM IS THE NEW LAUNCH DATE
So, the book is actually done except for the monsters. There are no longer little holes all throughout the text that need to be filled. The spells are completed, the Mastering the Game section is completed, everything is there.
I just need to do the monsters now, and there’s even been progress on that! The Folk section (human enemies) is complete and added to the Quickstart Rules as well as the full Core Rules. Here’s the final page:
So far there are 46 monster stat-blocks in the book, the goal is 82. So, here’s the layouts for the next monsters:
The How to Use Monsters section was a mess of ideas, so I went back through and cleaned it up. It should be a lot easier to parse and understand now, and has rooms for pictures to break up the dense text:
We already had a nice system for creating regions, but other than going around like an Ubisoft collectathon there was no real reason to explore! This new system should fix that and give dygenetic reasons for player’s to explore neighboring areas. It also replaces the faction system that was already there because it basically serves the same purpose:
Because of this system I also added in the new LORE rooms to the dungeon generator. This is also to encourage players to explore nearby hexes by giving them indicators of what will be in those dungeons:
Alphabetically, I should be working on Fiends next (well, technically, I should have been working on them even before I did Folk but I thought Folk were a higher priority), but I think Undead are a higher priority for two reasons:
