#CatSpree Logs
Hello everyone, since I still am working on this project in secret, I told to myself 'why not write some devlogs for it as well?', and here i am. To be honest I don't really know how much should i share with my audience (or potential audience), I'm gonna share whatever I want to share.
First of all, thank you for reading this devlog or giving a chance to my game CatSpree, I'm a solo developer for the game which has an obsession about ambience focused brain-dead games and I'm also a computer engineer.
Currently, the game consists of 3 main mechanics: gather a lot of cats, get upgrades, move to the next floor. What I'm trying to achieve here is a survivors-like game with rogue-like elements, so its a mix of both ideas with a sort of snake-ish movement that the player navigates with. If my ambition for this project were to take me to the next steps of the development, I might consider putting the polished project on Steam or consoles.
To address some important stuff, everything in this playable version(which I'm not even considering as an Alpha) can be treated as placeholders. I'm not good with art and stuff so music and visuals are either some free assets from itch, or generated by AI. I'd love to find an artist who is interested in developing this game with me but I'm not that hopeful about that sort of encounter.
Now to let you know what kind of implementations I'm working on right now;
- Simple yet challenging hostile npcs
- Better UI
- An experience system which will include the cat gathering system as well as hostile npc interactions
- First boot up cinematic
- A lot of variety for npcs and upgrades
- Polishing the main mechanics for the player
Since I'm in my last year of college, updates might not be consistent, but to let you know, most of my free times im trying to work on this game. Please keep an eye on my Itch page or CatSpree!'s page to try out any updates that are coming your way. Thanks a lot!
