Breaking Barebones RPG to basic

We’re proud to unveil the newest version of BareBones RPG, a lightweight, genre-flexible tabletop RPG that cuts out the noise and focuses on what matters: story, imagination, and a single d6.

No more dice pools. No searching for 5s or 6s. Just clean, intuitive rolls.

BBRPG is inspired by:

• EZD6 – Strike-based health and fast play

• OSR-style X-in-6 mechanics

• Mörk Borg-inspired Attack and Defense Tests

This system is designed to get you playing fast and keep the game flowing with minimal prep, rules, or math.

What’s Next?

• I’ll be releasing a free zine-style PDF in the next month or two.
• More playtests are happening at my local game bar—if you’re in the area, come roll with us!

This version keeps the heart of the original: easy to learn, easy to play, and wide open for creativity.
