I got the Pygame basic template working and immedietely started working on displaying the sprites I made last night. I read that converting the images as they are initialised makes them less demanding to display, so I did that... then all transparent sections on the sprite displayed as BLACK.
This was an easy fix, I discovered that Pygame has a command that allows you to single out a colour and make it display as transparent. So after editing a few of my sprites and surrounding them in an ugly shade of magenta:
-my work was done on that front.
All I have for the moment is four kitties standing in a row, I hope to begin chipping away at the platformer engine very very soon.
