So far in this beta release of Avoyd voxel editor we improved the renderer, glTF exporter and Minecraft importer:
New Soft shadows: control the size of the sun to sharpen/soften the shadows in your renders with the new option Sun Angular Diameter
in Tools > Light and Atmosphere
.
Example renders: left to right 5.0
(larger sun -> smoother shadows), 1.0
(default), and 0.1
(smaller sun -> sharper shadows).
New export to glTF mesh optimisation options: in File > Export > glTF Binary Mesh (.glb)
we recommend setting Mesh Optimisation
to Best
(default) when exporting meshes for games, but if you need to deform, animate, or edit the mesh then optimisation None
is useful. Partial
is the fastest export for rapid iteration.
Added new blocks up to Minecraft version 1.21.5. (If you prefer to stay on Avoyd version 0.26 you can download the Minecraft Block Materials template for Minecraft 1.21.5 to use when you import your map into Avoyd.)
Updated the UI default font to Atkinson Hyperlegible Next from the Braille Institute.
You can customise your font, font size and UI in Settings > Display
