Citizen Experience Mapping
In this game, the player will first see the painting in black and white in passthrough. By interacting with the objects in the game scene, the player can discover the answers to the puzzles. When all the questions a answered correctly, the painting in black and white will be in color, and another painting corresponding with the painting will appear.
Decision Dash
In this phase, we chose the idea of the game The Lost Scroll because it best shows how storytelling and historical investigation can be combined to highlight real events and personal experiences tied to European heritage. And it also dipicts the EU values of freedom, human dignity.
Cultural Prototyping
We design the game as an interactive investigation into real migration history, using a painting of Danish immigrants as the starting point. By uncovering facts hidden in maps, diaries, and other objects, players reconstruct the story behind the painting, on freedom, human dignity, and the value of the individual.
Interactive Mockup
We've built a mockup to test our game idea and design, which includes:
§ A starting UI that supports poke interaction and ray interaction that the player can interact and see the painting in black and white in passthrough.
§ A game scene where the player can poke the books, and then the questions will pop up for the player to answer.
§ A map and a calendar that the player can check. Clues will be hidden in the map and the calendar.
§ The painting in black and white in front of the player when playing, that will be in color when the player successfully finishes the game.
§ The other painting in connection with the original painting, which will appear when the game finishes.
§ End scene: The story behind the painting, and the painting "And Every Soul Was Saved" is added in the scene.
