I’ll do a proper post-mortem blog post soon, but my initial thoughts are that I am really happy with the game. I hit my scope 100% and also managed to add some extra visual flourishes!
Watching my gameplay video it struck me that the concept could be considered a sort of spiritual successor to my game Fore! Track (it’s golf …in a tank). You might think of HERD NERD as golf with moving and disappearing holes.
I feel there are some things done slightly better in Fore! Track such as the way a shot is charged (not linear) and how the player jump is drawn on screen (in perspective). So, there a few quality of life things in HERD NERD I would tweak ever so slightly, but no big meaningful changes.
