#Release Update
First Public Release (18/04)
It's finally here!
This update brings the relaunch of Dawn Seeker, featuring 15 levels, new enemies, sfx, music, art, mechanics.
There's a lot to go over so I'll try to be brief.
Starting a new game is recommended, the difficulty starts at level 1. Your old saves should work but if you're high level and geared most levels will be very easy. In that case, I recommend increasing the difficulty in the new teleporter menu.
If you do start a new game, you'll be greeted by the new Preferences Menu. Here you'll be able to change your settings before even starting the game. After the preferences menu you'll make your way through the brand-new Tutorial, which will hopefully do a better job of teaching you some of the basics. However, I still recommend reading the manual if you get stuck.
After finishing the Tutorial you'll find yourself in the brand-new ship! Don't be confused that there's no door for Navigation, there's only one 'planet' at the moment, so Navigation serves no purpose, so I haven't done it yet. Make sure to check out all the new settings in the Computer menu found in your Quarters as well. After familiarising yourself with your ship (the bed works, it speeds up digestion) you'll make your way to the Teleporter room. Stepping on the teleporter will open the menu allowing you to select a mission. Missions are now progression locked by bosses, meaning to unlock the next 5 levels you'll need to defeat the boss of the previous 5. If the game is too easy, feel free to click on the star to raise the difficulty, but also the rewards.
If you've played the game previously, you'll be familiar with most of it but there'll be a few new things. Edible objects are present in every level. Simply land a devour attack on them to eat them, filling your belly, gaining calories and possibly other effects.
There's a lot of other little things that you'll encounter along the way, and I hope you enjoy them!
Being that this is such a large update there'll no doubt be a lot of bugs and issues, feel free to contact me with your problems and I'll see what I can do. The best way to contact me is on the Discord but anywhere works.
Thank you for your patience! I hope the update was worth the wait and hopefully the next one won't take as long.
