Day 2: Development

Missing
A downloadable game

Jumped straight into whiteboxing. Started roughing out a basic level structure using the pack's assets. The main idea is simple. In each level the cube is missing. You need to find it and place it on a pressure plate to unlock the exit and move on. That’s the loop. No extra fluff, just tight gameplay that focuses on a clear objective. Mapped out four levels for the prototype. I didn’t focus on visuals or polish. This was about figuring out layout, spacing, and how to guide the player without needing a ton of text or handholding. It’s all about environment communication. Even in this early stage I could already picture how each level would work differently while still sticking to the same mechanic. By the end of the day I had all four levels laid out and playable inside the editor. Still using basic geometry and placeholder lighting. I wasn’t trying to make it look good yet. I just wanted it functional enough to test and iterate later.
