v1.0 Spellbinder Launch Date and Release

On today's devlog for our game Spellbinder we will discuss the v1.0 release of our game. Then also go through when it will release , why spellbinder will be at this date then as supposed to other dates, why development time has been the timeline that we have been using during the course of the project and finally some finale words on the project, while not a postmortem due to this project not being completed yet will provide some thoughts and learning experiences from the course of this project.

v1.0 Release Information

Version 1.0 of Spellbinder will consist of the two enemies, one boss and the ever changing level with spells randomly spread through it. With all relevant sound effects, ambience effects and music implemented into the game. Then Finally as many bugs as possible will be removed with some limited fixing after the release of v1.0 if time allows. The to do list for what we are doing over the next two to three weeks is listed in Dev Log #9. Most of what we have left to do is game polish as all core game play is fully integrated already and we are now working on making the game look and sound exactly how we want so that we represent this game exactly how it is intended by our team.


v1.0 Release Date

We at Púca Studios are planning to release v1.0 of our game Spellbinder on the 7th of May 2025. This is the v1.0 release date for Spellbinder due to the 7th of May being the date of submission for our game design degree's major project so the game must be in a completed state for this time. This due date does not impact negatively on the quality of the game that our group will release but helps us push towards a well defined goal that will hopefully end with a well created game that can be fun for our players.


The Project's Journey

The process of creating Spellbinder stated near the end of September 2024 and will end on the 7th of May 2025 as mentioned above. Working to this schedule has thought the entire team a lot about game design and game development. We have learned a lot from the journey we have taken during the course of this project. Learning through the mistakes we have made and the new discoveries and understandings that were created from the solutions to those problems. This game has been a lot of fun for our team to create and our work on this project wont end after this final release date announcement blog post, but continue up until the v1.0 release date with a possibility of going beyond that depending on the reception of v1.0 of spellbinder.
