Hey all! Today I realized after demoing the game around on a steam deck, there wasn't any actual controller support in the game yet, so I started up on that. I think it'll take a few days to get it all nice and cohesive, but I was able to get most of the scenes that aren't the main game part of the game working with a controller, so that actually turned out to be a bit easier than I expected. The trickiest thing was getting scroll containers to play nicely, but after a bit of fiddling, I think I ended up with a nice solution. So, not much in the way of game changes, but hopefully adding controller support will make the game somewhat more accessible! Also, after doing a bit of live demoing last night, I realized that the tutorial is kind of a wall of text meant for people totally unfamiliar with the genre, so I'm starting of thinking of a couple ways of making that more approachable. One way might be to have some kind of video/voice over, but I don't really know how I'd go about implementing that yet. I might also make another tutorial "path" for folks that are familiar with the genre, with just the deviations from the usual formula to get them up to speed. Anyway, enough rambling, here's today's changelog:
