DEV LOG – The Death Artist – Prototype Release

Today marks a huge milestone for our project: the prototype version of The Death Artist is now available!

This is your first glimpse into a dark, psychological narrative experience that puts you inside the mind of a killer who sees murder as art. While still in early development, we’ve implemented several core mechanics that lay the foundation for what’s to come:

Time matters. Each passing day advances the story, affecting the environment, characters, and ongoing investigations. Your actions truly shape the world.

📰 Investigation News System
Stay tuned to the radio and TVs: the police are closing in. The in-game news updates reflect what the detectives have uncovered, creating pressure and unpredictability.

🧰 Black Market Points
Hidden across the city’s back alleys, these shady dealers allow you to purchase critical items — tools, disguises, and more to aid in your dark mission.

🧍‍♂️🎨 Character Customization
You can personalize your version of the Death Artist — from visual changes to elements that influence how certain NPCs perceive and interact with you.

🏙️ Scene Concept Design
Each location is carefully crafted to reflect fragments of the protagonist’s emotional breakdown — filthy, somber, and soaked in symbolism. The city tells its own story.

🧠 NPC System with Unique & Randomized Personalities
They’re not just background characters. Each NPC has randomized traits and unique reactions. They remember you, spread rumors, and their behavior can either help or hinder your progress.
