Well, I did it. For this Ludum Dare game jam, I decided to go with 3D. I actually had a pretty good idea right off the bat for the theme, "depths," but there was one problem. It would require shaders. After much googling and YouTube tutorials, I finally came out with a pretty close reflection of what I wanted the game to look like. The only problem is that my GPU doesn't like it (when I run the game it reaches 100%). I'll fix that later... I also had to model in blender for the first time in forever, pushing my skills for sure. I'm really happy with the atmosphere that I managed to create, even if it is incomplete. I want to continue developing this game to make it more closely match my vision for it. Thanks for reading!
