FEEDBACK WORK WITH FIXES AND TWEAKS
CONTEXT
This update is a response to feedback regarding the update for v.1.2.0-alpha. After v1.3.0-alpha was released, I have already had to patch a couple of problems where the game was not pausing properly with the P key and a debugging feature that was interfering with a player's experience, so all of this is just responding to feedback and some minor graphical tweaks. Tweaks are still being made for the shareware version so I can get game play and problems ironed out. There are more fixes being worked on as well as a tweak for enemy AI. I feel that Chomp should behave a little differently when he is not eating bread. All of this stuff will be developed on stream in the coming week as well as more level design for the full version as I aim to complete another section of levels, following all the rules I made for myself in my 'book of books'!
Oh and by the way, I will be moving all updates and patch notes to the development log for better explanation and organisation, so you will see more posts like this one.
CHANGE LOG
MODIFY:
- Added text to the progress bars to make it more obvious they are associated with activating runes and collecting treasure.
- Enhanced rune progress bar icon to provide a more generic style.
- Enhanced both treasure and rune progress bar icons to make it more visible when not all treasure or runes have been found.
- Swapped Cheeky with Chomp's position and Chomp with Cheeky's position and mirrored images accordingly (also updated for promo banners and logos).
- Removed the ability for players to be able to use the debugging feature of slow motion.
FIX:
- Fixed an issue causing Chomp to not stop chasing at Cheeky's last seen spot.
- Fixed helper popups not being focused in front of the dark screen.
- Fixed a line of sight issue causing Chomp to ignore Cheeky after seeing him while he's eating bread or next to some other obstacle.
- Reinforced fix for Chomp displaying alert head indicator inappropriately.
- Fixed an issue causing the game to continue playing while the game was paused by pressing the P key.
CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
- More fixes following feedback for the shareware version.
- A tweak for Chomp's AI to improve his mobility around the level when he is not eating bread.
- Level design for the full version.
