I’ve hit a point where I want to focus on enriching Condo - not expanding, just making the spaces feel more lived-in. No new quests, spaces, or characters, but focusing on making what’s currently in the game work even better. Right now, the corridor feels like it needs the most attention, though I do appreciate its monotonous charm.
Anyway, here’s what’s new in 0.9.7:
Extreme Balcony Action™
The apartment needed a balcony, so the player could step outside, get some fresh air, and, if they felt like it, toss stuff over the edge. Implementing it was a learning experience - I had to figure out how to transition the rain sound from muffled to clear when stepping outside, which turned out to be trickier than expected. The thing is, if you're inside with the door closed, it should be muffled. If you're in with the door open, it should be clear. If you're out with the door open, it should be clear. And if you're out with the door closed, it should also be clear. Might sound like peanuts to most of you, but maaaaaaan, getting this right took a while.
More Pub Decorations
For some reason, I keep adding stuff to the pub. More posters, more pictures, more random things to mess around with. It’s therapeutic.
