This week we needed to import some models from online or make some of our own (I chose to make my own) into Unity. I have been making some pirate theme assets, so I thought I will bring them into Unity and use the new Lightweight Render Pipeline to get the material working.
All the pirate assets were made from this single texture, it's a technique called trim sheets, which can come in handy for optimisation in a game environment. I made the trim sheet with Substance Designer and Photoshop.
The next part of the self study was to make a character and animate it. I made a smooth surface character, with an idle, walk and wave animation. I added a bone to control the stomach region so it would look like the character was breathing in and out will idle.
Here you can see the stomach region expanding with the bone!
Here are my animations:
Neat isn't it? All the animations loop!
