Update v.0.3.1: A large number of small changes
After a pretty major last update, I wanted to mainly focus on some juice and Qol things including
- tons of particles, which should hopefully make the game feel a lot less bland, especially given the pretty mediocre art
- effect particles
- spell impact particles
- blood particles for enemies
- ambient particles, customizable with each level
- Enemies have a hit effect
- New Npc and shop that sells new currency souls for a health boost
- Also added dialogue system that will certainly be used in the future
- Editable controls
- Settings menu saves changes
- Many actions now require an activate input which should help make some things less confusing
- Respawning now returns you to beginning of level so you dont just die to the same enemy over and over again
- I had to change how the minimap works to better optimize the game. it now just shows a simplified map and markers that track enemy positions
- hit stop effect when your damaged
Nothing huge but some good progress to prepare for bigger updates in the future and the eventual release.
