Due to some health issues, I had to tone down the pace of the project to a bare minimum so that I could focus on my health more. Now we are back in steam and so here's an update of what's in the prototype today (its slow progress for the last 3 months while I was taking care of my health too) :
Requirements of a project
Tech Tree for Talent Offices & Production Studios Constraint - A big constraint that comes with it is that these buildings can not have permanent upgrades because there is always a possibility that the talent is fired and the new talent might have new requirements. So buildings become useless unless you get a similar talent again. So I went out to get a different kind of upgrade system.
New Rental Upgrade System for Talent Office : There would be upgrades of the talent office which are on rent, the upgrades would run out based on the number of albums the talent creates. This ensures that there is always a loop to rent an upgrade for the office like your talent needs or as the talent grows, you could rent a bit more expensive upgrades.
Exclusive items from using rental upgrades (Studio Stock Items) : The rental upgrades is the pathway to resource management in the game, so it would spun out studio stock items into the inventory which can be used anywhere in the game. For the time being, I haven't sorted out where this items will be used.
Album post release information access:
That's a long time period with slow but steady progress, more info in the next post.
DISCLAIMER - Every art assets in the prototype today are placeholder assets which we got for free from the asset store or internet. Please do not hesitate to let us know if it's otherwise.
