OK, so firstly, my snapping works well now:
And will I think be OK for the pretty simple cases I want to play with at the moment (those example sheets with two bits of text on every side and two more in the middle are not simple...)
But having played with it a bit, I think I'll move over to a different form, which will be slightly hard in one way, but much more intuitive.
The problem is, as you drag a sheet, you drag all its snap-points and you are trying to match them against all the stationary ones, meaning you may be looking at a different part altogether when a snap-point in the opposite corner brushes against some other one you weren't even thinking about and suddenly your sheet snaps to what initially looks like some random position.
Far too ChAotIc to live in the wild, I think.
