The latest patch has been released: Alpha v0.0.13

This patch includes bug fixes, typo fixes, and two new ships, each dedicated to one of the dark gods. 

NOTE: New C variant ships are currently NOT visible in the "Ship List" overview menu. To access them,  manually flip to the corresponding A or B variant first. The C variant will be accessible from there. Also note that the B variant must be unlocked before C is available for unlock.

• Fixed tooltip crash when enemy ship is destroyed while hovering over two crew in melee combat

• Fixed typos in Gladiatrix encounter
• Fixed typo in Doom Engine phase transition text

• Fixed typo in Death Cultist gold text

How to Install the Patch (Manual Installation)

If you have already bought the game, you can install the latest patch by following these instructions:

• At the top right corner of the Itch page, next to your username, click the "down" arrow to open the dropdown menu, then click "My Library".
• Find Void War in your library and click the "Download" button.
• That's it! You now have the latest version of the game. Your save data will carry through automatically.* You can delete the old version of the game whenever you want**.

*For those curious, your save data is not stored with the main game files and is actually located here: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Void_War

**NOTE: Installing a new patch WILL break your last autosave, so make sure to finish your last run before installing.

How to Install the Patch via Itch.io App (Experimental) 

If you want to stay up to date with the latest version without having to manually install new patches every time we release them, you can do so by installing the Itch.io app launcher.  Once installed, download Void War and you should be good to go. 

Note that your previously existing profile data will still be stored at the usual location: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Void_War

Any existing profile data from the manually installed patches should carry over to the Itch.io app version without issue. 

One last important detail: automatic patches will still break previously existing runs, and as far as we can tell, there is no way to disable automatic updates in the Itch.io app.

If an auto-update has broken your previous run and you'd like to continue playing it:

• In the Itch app...
• Go to Library > Right-click Void War >  Manage > Manage button > Switch to another version... 
• Select the last version of the game
• This version should be compatible with your last autosave if it was recently broken by an auto update.
