Under Your Spell
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Another week has passed, so here’s another development progress report.

As I promised to both myself and you all, I did focus on the girls’ plotline events last week. Even though I was tempted to write a couple more "random" events, I cannot write too many of those at the same time. Both because I need to put something into regular updates, and because writing too many of one or the other becomes stale at some point. Last week I sat down and started writing Elizabeth’s "5th event", which is actually three separate events. Those of you who finished her current storyline might have some idea why. One of those puts an end to your budding relationship, one sets up the next big step, and one is actually that big-ish event. The second and the third one use the "fixed date events" mechanic I described in the previous devblog, so I had to do some testing and figure out a few more kinks to make sure everything is working. Spoiler alert It does!

Anyway, I wrote two of those last week and the third one is in the making. In my original design document it was a separate "level" of Elizabeth’s plotline, but I feel that an event that just acknowledges what happened during your last evening in the brewing classroom would be disappointing for Elizabeth aficionados. So, you all get an actual date with our lady. It will be a very important event in her story because everything you did before and during this date will determine whether your relationship continues or not.

Such a major event demands special treatment on all fronts. Elizabeth is getting a special outfit for it, which Shady Two is hard at work designing.


Hopefully, I will be done with Elizabeth’s event this week and move back to Katelyn and some more random events.
