#Dev Log #Update
It's been a loooooooooooong time since I've posted an update to Orbitunes!
I got a little carried away and made the game simultaneously better AND uglier! Quite a few prototype mechanics going on now. Here's a quick run-down of what's new:
- Updated Audio Mixing: I've been looking into methods to improve the game's audio quality. Previously it was far too quiet, but cranking the volume up too much ended up causing a lot of clipping. Currently the Windows build is sitting at a happy of loud-ish with minimal clipping. However, it looks like the WebGL build is in Clip City, so I'll have to take a look as to why that's happening...
- Tempo Modifier: Added a slider to modify the tempo of the music in real time. Seems to add a neat additional layer for players to toy around with! Speaking of which...
- Key Signature Modifier: Previously Orbitunes was only playable using the C Major pentatonic scale. I've also added support for E major and G minor now! I especially like the sound of G minor, it really goes a long way in mixing up the sounds you'll be able to make.
Unfortunately all of these big changes have very rudimentary UI, which I'll be the first to admit does not look great. Hopefully I'll be able to update it soon once I get Unity UI to start cooperating with me again.
Until next time!!
