Hi, guys! What's up?
I hope you had a great week, mine was not so good with how intense office work has been 😂 weekends feel so short! To be honest, I'm starting to feel a little burnout. I might slow down a little just to make more time to rest~
Also, I take back what I said before about the Throne background being the most difficult one--I've made a sketch of the main village and oh boy, what have I got myself into? :'D
I feel generous today so let me show you the full preview of the sketch~ (and also to show you how painful/imagine how much time I'd need to finish this x'D)
with rough UI placement:
I assure you that I'm not masochistic! It just turns out this way the more I develop the worldbuilding T_T but the good news is I improved, right? QuQ
The concept is combining Batak's traditional houses (Bolon, Karo, PakPak) & Minangkabau's traditional house (Gadang). Both are from Sumatra so they share some similar characteristics, like their pointy roofs. And yes, I've used Gadang & Bolon houses before for the Ruins in "Nusantara: Bermuda Triangle" -^.^)/ the difference is the Gadang house here will be slightly more modern, with stone materials being used instead of wood.
I also got a little inspired by Bali, so I inserted some of their elements here and there... like the famous Gapura, Handara Gate, often called the Gateway to Heaven.
So, after some reality check, here's a list of the backgrounds that I'll need for Saving Grace (might add/change):
- Forest (morning, afternoon, night)
- the Gapura leading to the Gadang House a.k.a. the house of Royalties/Nobles. The Royal family lives here along with their ministers/officers/soldiers (morning, afternoon, night)
- the Village (already sketched)
- the Market (morning, afternoon, night)
- the Throne (done)
- the Hallway (morning, afternoon, night)
- Bedroom 1 (ordinary) & Bedroom 2 (luxury) (morning + night)
- Skies (morning, afternoon, night)
I'm not sure how long it would take me to finish them, but like my motto said, "One step at a time", 'kay? 😂 I'm taking it slow because I don't want to get a burnout :'3
Oh, btw I'm going to use resolution of 1280x720 instead of the originally planned 1920×1080! I've considered that not all of us has that big of a screen, and I think 1280x720 is just the perfect size for our eyes to be able to take in everything at a glance \(^.^)/
